The Red Tide Rangers collect water samples during a red tide bloom. They also assess aerosol conditions and fish kills associated with a bloom. Cell counts, aerosol and fish kill information is provided to the Texas Parks and Wildlife and NOAA Harmful Algal Bloom Work Groups. This information is used to notify the public on red tide status and bloom location and movement.
